the story:

The Reishi used in this formula was gifted to me by a Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor who barely speaks English & gets all the herbs he works with straight from China. Dr. Duong was indeed delighted when he saw me walk in holding a TCM herbs reference book with the names listed in English alongside corresponding Chinese characters & black + white images. On that day I received Reishi mushroom & Peony root as a gift alongside a purchase of Rehmannia. Since then, Dr. Duong and I have been friends and though our language-based communications often happen with me pointing at a Chinese character or trying to say a word using the wrong tones and him smiling at me, his exhaled Tobacco smoke in the air, I have learned so much from him.

Lingzhi for strong, and he palpates his face. A strong glow? Even if that’s not what he meant, I eventually experienced that the mushroom enhances our luminance. Like Schizandra berries, another TCM favorite, Reishi mushrooms have been employed in many an immortality formula. This is all connected — what are chromosomes? They are receptors & projectors of light, they are light / color (chroma) bodies (somas). Many studies have shown that Reishi has a healing effect on our genetic coding and helps upgrade cellular information, so the luminosity we see in our countenance following a steady communion with the mushroom is a result of their workings within our vessels. Ganoderma lucidum is one of the latin binomials of this entity, and the word “lucidum” refers to the shiny and brilliant appearance on the surface of the mushroom which translates beautifully into and through our own light’s shining. Lingzhi is often combined with Schizandra berries for irritations and other imbalanced manifestations that show up through the skin. The mushrooms are considered to be a normalizing force for fluid metabolism & blood circulation, so they help to clear heat and other presentations of stagnation which can become inflammatory in the body. Reishi tones our organs and shows up as a preventative, with documented evidence of its curative potential. In combination with Pomegranate fruit juice, the immuno-enhancing qualities become pronounced.

The combination of Pomegranate and Reishi is a perfect alchemical marriage. They’re both in it for the long run and promise support and longevity through thick and thin. In Ayurvedic practice, Pomegranate fruit & juice is a blood tonic with cleansing properties as it can clear our bodily waters of foul discharges and other such fluids resulting from infections. Reishi has a history of being used in protocols for people experiencing cancer. In recent studies, it has been found that Pomegranate is also promising in inducing the death of certain cancer cells — synergizing perfectly with the energetics of Reishi. Pomegranate extract interacts specifically with the mitochondria in our cells — mitochondria is information and the power source in our cells which we inherit from our maternal line. Polyphenol compounds in the extract interact with the mitochondria to eradicate defective mitochondria and simultaneously help generate / reproduce new, healthy mitochondria. This is in direct conversation with the way Pomegranate flower essence helps us to integrate our creative AND procreative energies. To increase intentionality in our experience, we may need the support of beings like Pomegranate and Joshua tree flowers which help to resolve disturbances and distortions in our expressions, especially those related to lineage, ancestry, and inherited dispositions. Furthermore, the fruit bear a striking resemblance to the ovaries and other female generative organs which aligns with the doctrine of signatures and informs us that this fruit is not only a mirror of the blood, but also a clarifier which makes our past, present, and future lucid.
