flower profile and essence creation story:

The journey of crafting this essence was a lovely one. The sun shone brightly on the day of the astrological new year while I thought of goldenrod blossoms and, shortly after, turned to find a row of them waving at me. ‘Excited’ by this synchronicity, I walked to the flowers and spent some time with them, noting the spiderwebs that had been formed around the stems and stalks and leaves of surroundings plants and trees. Gazing carefully at these formations, I gave thanks for the medicine of spider which time and time again has reminded me to stay steady and focused in my weaving, to perfect the dreamcatchers that protect and augment my visions. Days later, I returned to this site to make the essence after some time reflecting on the yearning to liberate my family. I placed the bowl of water with flowers in between two baby blackberry plants, nonetheless thorny and protective. A song began to form in my throat as I felt the rays of sunlight fill me and I channeled that energy into the essence. The song, not yet clear, was combining with my voice as I spotted 3 ants dancing a tantalizing and tantric dance around the rim of the bowl. They continued in that rhythmic motion for what felt like an eternity. The song escaped, and it was the one the yanapuma had taught me some time ago when I encountered their protective and penetrating offering in a jungle of my dreams. The yanapuma appeared to me in the precise moment when I was being followed/accompanied by a person who had been energetically harassing me for some time. After the encounter with the yanapuma, the person was nowhere to be found and never to be seen again. The ultimate cleansing, protection, uncrossing, reversal, and all of this because of the magick this mystical creature had ‘suddenly’ shared with me. As I sang into the bowl of flowers, my heart remembered this feeling of safety, trust, and revelation - my spirit recalled the liberation of that moment, and so the song’s intention for this essence became defined. As if innerstanding what I meant, the birds seemed to join with their singing, filling in the spaces where thoughts and deep knowing brought me into waves of silence. “A Special Essence” came to me as a clear encapsulation of the vibration of these moments together as one. In this same way, Goldenrod reminds us of the all that makes us whole. With their latin name, Solidago, meaning “to make whole” or “to bring together”, it is no wonder that the lucidity of perception that one experiences in union with Solidago is everpresent after that contact with them. They not only help us to stand true to self and source in social situations where one might otherwise be swayed to ‘fit in’ with the group, they also aid us in integrating and healing our inner child, especially the parts that were not accepted by our parents or caretakers but that we have longed to express. Goldenrod flower essence is for the ones considered the ‘weirdo’, the ‘black sheep (who are not sheep at all)’, the ‘outcast’, or the ‘underdog’ - for the one whose light the world sees but too often turns away from because it is so bright. With Solidago, we can feel safe and secure in and as ourselves, so while they target the 3rd eye and crown chakras, they also activate the balanced manifestations of the root, sacral, and solar plexus, ultimately bridging the gaps within our heart.
