Calendula is often confused with the modern marigold which is not the same as the pot marigold — the pot marigold is also known as Calendula. This is a plant that I have had a long-term connection with and who my ancestors appreciate a lot when I use in plates of food that I offer to them. Golden Eye was so named because, beyond the golden eyed appearance that this accomplice has, I have noted that my awareness is heightened and I notice a lot more about my surrounding environment when I am in communion and communication with Calendula. In my life, this flower has served as a clarifier of everything around me and what is being communicated through all of it. This Golden Eye tincture is meant to enable us to perceive truths, unclouded by our own misperceptions and expectations, or lack of, thereof. When tinctured, this flower is recommended for a wide array of ailments and complications including lack of menstruation, cramping during the cycle, stomachache, fevers, flu, and even toothache. When used during a fever, it can induce sweating and furthermore alleviate that internal heat. In the digestive and excretory processes, Calendula is known to promote cleansing through enhancing bowel movements and increasing urination.
